We have the privilege of calling the historic Weldon House in Schwenksville home! The first floor is a unique Artisan
Gallery Shop with all sorts of fine handmade items, art and photography, antiques, handpainted furniture, and so much more. And the second floor is our new studio/classroom area with a beautiful front patio for Artsy Afternoons. Our big beautiful hillside puts the studio in its own little world and gives us endless opportunity for outdoor art fun.
And we hold an Artisan & Vintage Market in the parking lots during the warmer months.
I'm Melissa Thurman, the owner. I graduated from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking, but I love to work in a variety of different media and styles. Since I was 6 years old I've been drawing & painting, always knowing I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, but that was all I had figured out. Then I got a job teaching at a studio during college and fell in love! I have been teaching more than 12 years. Personally I like to
experiment and work in a variety of styles and mediums, and I aim to bring that same exploration to the class projects.
We're expanding quite a bit right now, adding on visiting guest artist workshops, growing our camp program, venturing
into off-site parties and workshops, and so much more.
Stop in for an Artsy Afternoon to check us out, and be sure to peruse the gallery shop a bit too!
